How we can help / 01

Planning changes to your workplace

New desks, a shop fit-out or extra equipment can mean you need more than a few additional sockets. We'll look at what you want to power, where you need it and what the existing circuits can support. Let us know which equipment needs to stay running while the work takes place.

Office and retail work can include additional outlets, lighting changes, new circuits and alterations to the existing installation. Distinguish fixed wiring from data cabling, appliances and specialist equipment. Agree responsibilities with the landlord or building manager before modifying shared supplies.

Managing access and planned shutdowns

We know a power interruption can affect your working day. Tell us about tills, servers, refrigeration or other essential equipment so we can discuss access and shutdowns before the job starts. Opening times and delivery arrangements help us plan the work with you.

We'll agree scheduling for your job and discuss availability if you need work outside normal hours. The assessment may identify repairs to existing circuits as well as your planned changes. We'll explain the quotation and how any further work would be agreed.

Lighting for offices, shops and working areas

Poor lighting can make a workspace uncomfortable or leave parts of a shop difficult to see. We can help with lighting changes and LED upgrades, considering the tasks in each area, glare, controls and how the premises are used.

LED fittings, drivers and dimmers must be compatible. Discuss maintenance access, emergency lighting interfaces and whether zoning or occupancy sensors would be useful. Energy savings depend on the equipment, hours of use and controls; a fixed reduction is not promised.

Emergency lighting installation and testing

Need emergency lighting installed or tested? We can discuss the work your premises need and how it fits your escape arrangements. Existing fire risk assessments, building plans and lighting records give us a useful starting point.

Installation, functional checks and duration testing address different questions. Agree the scope and how testing affects use of the building. Records help identify failed batteries, missing fittings and recurring defects. Retain the results and arrange follow-up work; testing does not replace a wider fire risk assessment.

PAT testing for your business

Need the electrical equipment in your workplace checked? We provide PAT testing for businesses and rental properties. We'll review the equipment and access during an onsite visit before preparing a quotation.

Repairs, testing and useful completion records

Tripping circuits, damaged sockets or unreliable lighting can interrupt your business. We can investigate the problem and discuss repairs with you. Tell us when it happens and what equipment is affected; earlier reports and circuit information can help with the investigation.

Installation certification, a condition report and a PAT record serve different purposes. Agree the work, tests and documentation before starting. Changes should be reflected in relevant circuit information, with outstanding observations explained so the next person maintaining the premises understands what has changed.

Common questions

Can work be arranged around opening hours?

Tell us your opening hours and when we can access the premises. We'll discuss a workable schedule and any shutdowns with you. Evening or weekend visits depend on availability, so please ask when arranging the job.

What helps you prepare a quotation?

Tell us where the premises are, what you'd like done and any access restrictions. We'll arrange an onsite visit to assess the work before preparing a quotation. Plans and previous reports are helpful if you have them.
